And today I discovered the story of another courageous girl. Her name is Nasim Soltan Baigi and she is from Iran. On November 30 2010, this student activist received a 6-years prison term by the Revolutionary Court. She was a leftist student who was among students arrested in a widespread crackdown on student activists in November 2007. She spent 56 days on Evin Prison before being released on bail. She had already been arrested on June 12, 2006.*
Moments ago she entered Evin Prison to serve her sentence of 6 years. I, as human right’s defender don’t agree with this sentence because it’s an unfair decision that try to stop the courageous fight for liberty and justice, made by people like Nasim. Because of this, I think, we that lives in democratic countries, must help those that are searching for democracy in their countries. So I will ask for people sign this petition: FREE Nasim Soltan Baigi (نسیم سلطانبیگی را آزاد کنید) Petition | GoPetition.
You can also find it on Justiça e Direitos Humanos. Please sign and help this activist to find again freedom.
