Hard times for the Middle East peace process.

Israeli FM: Abbas is not peace partner – Middle East – Al Jazeera English

The conflict between Israel and Palestine was not yet be solved because sometimes in is history, arrives people that are not interested in peace with the enemy. In this case is Mr. Avigdor Lieberman the Israeli’s foreign minister. The progress of peace talks depends on those who are in power and in the actuality the Israeli government it seems not interested in peace. Mr. Avigdor Lieberman is from a nationalist party (Yisrael Beiteinu/Israel is our home) and as all nationalist party’s, they have a hard vision of the peace process. They represent the extreme thought and they only make concessions if palestinians do want they want. So how can be peace if people in power is not prepared to make sacrifices? Also, Mr. Lieberman is very sceptic and this is very visible in the article above of Al Jazera. First he says that with the turmoil in the Middle East is hard to arrive to a agreement soon with palestinians. Well, this is to get a bad excuse to refuse to make efforts for peace process because is precisely when things are in bad terms that is necessary more comprehension and help from both parts to don’t let the peace process die. Also he says that the key word of the process should be managing it and not solving it. But this as no sense because this means that the conflict will continue forever only stopping sometimes when both parts are prepared for that. So, this is a bad idea and we believe that is better to try to solve the conflict once for all to arrive to a definitive peace than trying to manage it and continue violence between enemy-brothers.
Another bad new related with the Israel-Palestine conflict is that the Israeli prime-minister Mr. Benjamin Nethanyau said that he will not accept peace talks with palestinian government if this accept the “Hamas” between then. Well, sometimes I believed that it could happen with “Hamas” the same that happened with “OLP”. A transformation from a terrorist group to a political party interested in peace and no-violence. But, as time goes by, I feel more and more, that is a utopia because “Hamas” is like “Yisrael Beiteinu. Both want peace by is terms and nothing more than that. So they are not prepared to accept proposals from other parts. That’s why this refusal of the Israeli government it’s not a very good idea. It’s comprehensible as “Hamas” had already attacked many times Israel people but not very realistic and pragmatic. When one of the parts is not very interested in peace talks, the other part should do everything to continue it. So if there are a so called group terrorist in the palestinian government, the israeli government should make everything to show to palestinians that they are prepared to accept proposals instead of extreme positions. Unfortunately, the sentences of Mr. Lieberman seems more close from reality in present times because the israeli government make everything to difficult the peace talks and the palestinian government had a terrorist group as member. Also is important not forget that the “Hamas” has a main role in Palestine life and to refuse to talk with them is to refuse a important part of the palestinian society. It’s very hard and almost impossible but maybe one day “Hamas” will see that is better abandon the extremism and fight in a no-violent way for peace.
